To really understand me, and I mean REALLY understand me; you have to know I’d say about five things.
These five things are, not unlike the Declaration of Independence, truths that I hold to be self-evident. They are unarguable and undeniable in regards to how they shape me and my life.
THE UNKNOWN
Everything that is not known/written in stone is held more important than everything else. This is why God is so important and special. It’s also why certain words have stronger meaning, and why most of my life is the pursuit of knowledge an understanding. The more unknowns there are, the more things are overvalued.
Think about life as a child. Everything that you didn’t know or understand was some wondrous or magical thing that you could barely grasp, if it all. It inspired you or frightened you.
HEROES
What is a world without heroes?
It’s not the desolate, corrupted and anarchistic society that most people think it is. At least, not in the extreme sense anyway. It’s just a very sad and lonely place. People wouldn’t really hurt each other unless provoked. Instead they’d ignore each other, or lie to each other or.
In my eyes, all good deeds are heroic in essence. Not unlike the butterfly effect, where the flapping of a butterfly’s wings can cause hurricanes on the other side of the world, the smallest of good deeds can change the world.
When I was little I read and was inspired by heroes. Super heroes, detectives, knights, legends, and even celebrities. They were all so amazing and special that I couldn’t help but want to be like them. So I tailored my life around what I would think they would do in certain situations.
I try to never lie, to never hurt anyone, and resolve any and every conflict. Naturally, this backfires all the time, but I still try because in the end, it’s the struggle to do good, and the will to stand in the face of adversity, that really makes you a hero.
LOVE
Is really just a weird used to describe an extreme emotion which is a combination of happiness and desire. We do crazy things for love and in the name of love, probably because, as stated before, we don’t understand it completely, so we value it higher than most.
